A £23m modernisation programme is set to benefit schools across Hertfordshire over the next two years.
The county council approved expenditure this week to bring school premises up to modern standards.
Priorities include replacing temporary classrooms and building new sports and food technology facilities.
More than 50 projects are included in the council's capital programme for 2006-2008 and major projects involve refurbishing science laboratories.
