Port expansion to bring 600 jobs
Port plans
Capacity to increase by 25% at Felixstowe's container port
A major freight container port has won approval for a scheme to develop a former roll-on roll-off ferry berth and expand capacity by about 25%.

The development will create 600 jobs at Felixstowe in Suffolk and has been approved by county council planners.

Permission was given for deep water berths at a former P&O ferry terminal.

This will increase capacity at the port by a quarter and comes a few weeks after approval for new facilities at Bathside Bay in nearby Harwich.
