More than 100 jobs are being cut at Suffolk County Council to help meet a £24m shortfall in its budget.
In an announcement on Thursday, the council revealed that services across the board including care for the elderly will be hit.
The council blames too small a grant from central government for the cuts.
It says if it wants to keep council tax rises down, it needs to slash £24m off its budget for this coming year. That means 112 jobs will go.
The biggest area affected with be in adult care - where there will be cuts in funding for care homes and home help services.
There will also be less money for fostering and child care, as well as cuts in road repairs, waste management and rural bus routes.
Financial support for many voluntary groups could also be reduced.
