Man, 37, charged over taxi rape

A 37-year-old man has been charged with raping a 22-year-old woman in Ipswich last week.

The woman was allegedly attacked after getting into what she thought was a taxi on 31 March, police said.

She said she was raped by one of three men in the vehicle and then dumped in Blanche Street in Ipswich town centre where a member of the public found her.

Mohanid Alobaydi, of Bulstrode Road, Ipswich, is due before magistrates in the town on Saturday morning.

Two other men arrested in connection with the incident have been released on police bail.
