County's new HQ officially opened
New Suffolk County Council HQ
Endeavour House is being opened on Friday
The official opening of Suffolk County Council's new headquarters Endeavour House is taking place on Friday.

The building in Russell Road, Ipswich, will be opened by two Suffolk residents chosen to represent the range of services provided by the council.

Phoebe Turner, five, was chosen as one of the first pupils to enrol at the new Beaumont Primary School in Hadleigh.

The second person Anastasia List, 94, is one of the oldest residents at the council's Sidegate Lane Home, Ipswich.

The event, which starts at 1615 GMT, is open to everyone in Suffolk.

A light show, music, dancers and theatre are just some of the free entertainment planned.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to make a donation to the tsunami appeal.

The event gets under way with the arrival of a procession led by a Suffolk Punch horse and carriage.
