Six pupils hurt in minibus crash
Six children and two adults are being treated in hospital after an accident between a minibus and a tractor.

The bus was carrying 12- and 13-year-olds from Beyton Middle School in Suffolk when the accident happened.

The crash was at the crossroads on Beyton Road between Thurston and Rougham at about 3.45pm.

Officials at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds said the injuries were mainly superficial but all those involved had been very shaken.

Police said the tractor driver had to be freed from his vehicle which toppled over in the crash, trapping him.

He is not thought to have life-threatening injuries.

All 24 children on the minibus were taken to hospital as a precaution. Only six were injured.

A Suffolk County Council spokesman said all the parents of children involved in the accident had been notified.
