Farmers fined over four-day rave
The owners of a Suffolk farm have been fined nearly £6,000 for allowing a four-day party to take place.

The rave took place at Elm Tree Farm at Thorpe Morieux near Lavenham over the weekend of Friday 13 August. Environmental health officers visited several times and issued a noise nuisance notice on Chris Notley and Cosmo Verner who had about 100 guests. Babergh District Council prosecuted the two owners at Sudbury Magistrates' Court.

The two party organisers admitted breaching the notice and were each fined £2,500 with £375 costs.

The bench explained that the sentences reflected the serious inconvenience and disturbance suffered by their neighbours.
