Arrest after bus shelter vanishes
A 60-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after a new bus shelter disappeared within hours of being put up on Tuesday.

Shortly after Suffolk County Council workmen installed the shelter in Elmswell, it was uprooted by a forklift truck and taken away on a lorry.

Police were called and the shelter was later recovered.

It is understood ownership of the path where the shelter was sited is the subject of a legal dispute.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said the man arrested was local.

He was also questioned on suspicion of criminal damage and released on police bail until 12 October.
