Vandals have daubed paint on a controversial memorial sculpture for the second time in three months.
The Scallop was splattered with paint by vandals
The stainless steel scallop structure on Aldeburgh beach in Suffolk, is a tribute to composer Benjamin Britten.
The work, by artist Maggie Hambling, has been criticised by people who say it is not in a suitable place.
Local councillors discussed the objections and decided it should stay put. Police say was attacked between Thursday and Saturday.
The sculpture was unveiled last year to commemorate Britten, who is
Aldeburgh's most famous former resident.
In January it was vandalised for the first time when white paint was thrown
In the latest attack the vandals used red and green paint, police said.
