Rail travellers face weekend delays
Anglia train
Coaches replace trains on several routes through the end of the year
Engineering work scheduled for the weekend has meant disruption for rail passengers between Norwich and London.

Services have been replaced by coaches in several areas, which is estimated to add an extra 30 minutes to journey times.

The service on Anglia Railways has been reduced to one train an hour from Ipswich and buses are replacing trains between Norwich and Ipswich.

Local services between Ipswich and Cambridge and Peterborough begin and end at Stowmarket with a coach service to and from Ipswich.

The company is also running two buses each hour from Norwich with the "on the hour service" going via Diss and Stowmarket and the half hour bus going directly to Ipswich.

The same bus service will apply to the return journey from London Liverpool Street.

Anglia Railways has scheduled weekend maintenance through the end of 2003, which will affect service in other areas of Cambridgeshire - and on lines into Colchester and Witham in Essex as well as in Suffolk and Norfolk.

The revised timetables are displayed at stations and available on the company's website.
