A 33-year-old man charged with causing the deaths of two teenagers did not appear in court on Thursday after being re-admitted to hospital.

Zulfcar Ali, of Boyton Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, has been charged with two counts of manslaughter following the deaths of teenage friends who died after being hit by a car.

Dean Bloomfield and Scott Towler, both 15, died following the incident in Ipswich on Friday.

A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said the man, who had been due to appear in court on Thursday, did not attend because he has been re-admitted to hospital.

Detectives will decide how the case will be dealt with.
