Retirement village plans on show

Plans have gone on display showing how a 140-home retirement village could be built on the outskirts of a town in Staffordshire.

Architects Hulme Upright want to build the development off Castle Street in Eccleshall.

Some local residents have said they fear the proposal would lead to more traffic in the town.

However, architect John Sambrook said having the extra homes would mean more trade coming into the area.

People have until 1 January to send their comments about the plans to Stafford Borough Council.
