Car park to stay shut over safety

A multi-storey car park which was shut over safety fears will remain closed for the "foreseeable future", council chiefs have said.

The Bridge Street car park in Stafford was shut in September after a routine test revealed structural damage.

Engineers have since been carrying out detailed tests on the 466-space car park.

A spokesperson for Stafford Borough Council said there were still plenty of parking spaces available in the town.
