Plans to develop a Staffordshire town centre are to go on show next month.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and regional development agency Advantage West Midlands have commissioned a draft plan for Leek.

The proposals are to be unveiled for consultation in Getliffe's Yard off Derby Street on 9 December.

Information will be displayed from 10 to 23 December in Leek Councils Connect, Stockwell Street, and a former video shop in the Smithfield Centre.

Council portfolio holder for regeneration Councillor Andrew Hart said: "Local people have already had major involvement in developing the master plan.

"But we now need to make sure that the proposals reflect their needs and concerns before we seek government approval next year."

Consultants BE Group, Taylor Young and Aecom have invited people to give their views.

Views from earlier public consultations over the summer informed the development of the draft master plan, the council added.
