Injured man 'ran through bonfire'

An 18-year-old man who reportedly ran through a bonfire before tripping over has suffered serious burns.

A West Midlands ambulance spokeswoman said the service was called to a public bonfire at a site in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday evening.

The young man was treated at the scene for burns to his face, back, arms, hands and legs.

He was given pain relief before being taken to University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

The ambulance spokeswoman added: "It is reported that the teenager had ran through the bonfire before tripping over in the middle."
