War dead remembered at arboretum

Servicemen and women killed in past and current conflicts have been honoured at two services at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

Methodist preacher Pastor Paul Owens led Remembrance Sunday services in the visitor centre courtyard at the Alrewas site at 1045 GMT and 1400 GMT.

The services, which were by ticket only, were being relayed to a screen at the Leonard Cheshire Amphitheatre.

Armistice Day will be commemorated at the Armed Forces Memorial on Wednesday.
