Fan charged over Euell race taunt

A 47-year-old football fan has been charged with racially abusing a player during a Carling Cup match.

The unnamed man, who is alleged to have made racist comments to Blackpool's Jason Euell, was arrested at Stoke City's Britannia Stadium last month.

The fan, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

He has been bailed to appear before magistrates in Stoke-on-Trent on 13 October.
