Seven jobs lost as creche closes

The creche in Stoke-on-Trent's main shopping centre has closed with the loss of seven jobs.

The Potteries Shopping Centre said the number of children using its Mouse House creche had continually declined over a number of years.

A centre spokesman said the economic climate led to a review of all operational costs and the creche was closed after careful consideration.

The Mouse House ceased trading at the centre on Monday.

The spokesman added that the centre wanted to thank the creche's staff for their dedication, professionalism and friendly service over the years.
