Youths targeted in alcohol sting

Under-age drinkers in a Staffordshire town are to be targeted by police after a number of seizures of alcohol.

Over the past few months, officers have taken dozens of bottles and cans from youths drinking illegally in the Kidsgrove area.

The alcohol was confiscated and will be poured away, a spokesman said.

Police will target drinking "hotspots" and seize any alcohol being consumed by children if it being drunk within the alcohol prohibition zones.
