Woman plans end-to-end county run

Adela Salt has never run so far in one day

A woman from Staffordshire is planning to run the entire length of the county in a single day.

Adela Salt, 36, of Stoke, wants to run the 93 mile-long Staffordshire Way, which runs from Mow Cop in the north of the county to Kinver in the south.

The ultra-distance athlete has completed 25 marathons in the past and many ultra-distance events, including one of 62 miles in seven hours 54 mins.

She said she hoped it would help get her back into the Great Britain squad.

She said: "I'm hoping to do it in 24 hours. I personally think I can do that, its about four miles an hour (6.4km/h), but it's obviously a lot further than I've every run before.

"But that's part of the challenge, that's why I want to do it, I want to see if I can actually do this."

The route, which is entirely a public right of way, was opened in 1977.
