Firework put through letter box

A lit firework was put through the letter box of a house in Shropshire while people were asleep inside.

The incident happened in Donnington Wood, Telford, early on Sunday.

One person heard a hissing noise when he was in bed and saw several green flashes of light before there was a small explosion, police said.

Nobody was injured, but the carpet was damaged. The West Mercia force asked anyone with information to contact Telford police or Crimestoppers.
