Three injured in motorcycle crash

Three people have been injured, two of them seriously, in a collision between a motorbike and car in Staffordshire.

The motorbike rider, aged 45, sustained a broken leg and suspected shoulder injury in the crash in Lea Lane, Rugeley, on Friday evening.

He was taken by air ambulance to hospital, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

His pillion passenger, a woman of 45, was taken to hospital with chest and leg injuries.

The car driver, who police said was aged 18, was trapped in his vehicle for about an hour and suffered a chest injury.

Two ambulance crews and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

Staffordshire Police want to hear from any witnesses to the collision.
