Hospital ward closed by Norovirus

A ward has been closed at Stafford Hospital because of an outbreak of the Norovirus bug.

The virus has closed the clinical decisions unit at the hospital in Weston Road, health bosses said.

Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust appealed to people who had recently experienced nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea not to visit the hospital.

Norovirus is highly contagious and causes vomiting and diarrhoea which can last for two to three days.

Three wards at Stafford Hospital were closed in February following an outbreak of Norovirus.
