Work begins to resurface motorway

A six-week project to resurface the M6 through Staffordshire is due to start later.

Work on the £2m scheme, to improve the carriageway between junctions 14 and 15, will take place between 2200 GMT and 0500 GMT to minimise disruption.

The Highways Agency said drainage would also be improved and safety barriers there would be replaced.

Temporary speed limits will be put in place between the junctions while the work is carried out.

Over the next fortnight teams will also resurface the Hanchurch roundabout, which links junction 15 of the M6 to the A500.

Diversions were being put in place while that work is carried out.
