The firm has blamed the economic downturn for a reduction in orders

JCB has made 165 redundancies across its factories in Staffordshire taking total job losses in the firm to 1,000.
It comes after a 30-day consultation and is part of 398 job cuts announced last month due to an economic downturn.
Sites affected include its cab systems division in Rugeley, as well as its heavy products, attachments and services all based in Uttoxeter.
Posts will also be axed at its earthmovers, Cecilly Mills and compact products based in Cheadle.
A spokesman said consultations over job losses were continuing at its headquarters in Rocester.
