A 54-year-old man was arrested after ramming several vehicles in a frenzied driving spree.
Police said he drove onto a private estate in Monnington-on-Wye in Herefordshire in a 4x4 and hit three parked cars and the caravan.
He then drove over newly-planted apple trees in a field, before careering across an orchard and ramming a tractor and then damaging four more vehicles.
An unforeseen medical problem may be to blame, police said.
Medical tests
Damage is estimated to be in excess of £10,000.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said the man, from the Presteigne area of Herefordshire, drove onto the private estate at around 0600 GMT on 15 November.
After apparently ramming the cars, caravan and tractor he hit a stone monument and was apprehended by a member of staff from the estate, the spokesman added.
He was taken into custody, where he was examined by a doctor and then admitted to Hereford County Hospital for emergency medical tests.
He remains in hospital and will be interviewed as soon as is practicable, police said.
In a statement, a spokesman said: "Police in North Herefordshire have confirmed that a 54-year old man was arrested after he seemingly went berserk in his Isuzu Trooper 4x4 and rammed into eight vehicles, including a tractor, on a private estate in Monnington-on-Wye."
