Girl killed in lorry crash named

A teenager who died when she was hit by a lorry on a motorway near Stafford has been named by police.

Sixteen-year-old Hanna Hakkarainen was killed near to junction 14 of the M6 in Staffordshire on Monday.

She was from Finland and was staying in the Stafford area on a high school student exchange, the Central Motorways Policing Group said.

The Slovakian lorry driver was shaken but not injured, police added. Inquiries into the incident continue.

An inquest into Ms Hakkarainen's death has been opened and adjourned.
