Pond boy released from hospital

A twin boy who fell into a garden pond has been released from hospital.

Emergency services called to the pond in Tean, Staffordshire during Monday evening found two two-year-old boys had fallen into the water.

In a statement, Harry Bostock's parents said he had been discharged from hospital but his twin brother George was in a critical but stable condition.

Earlier, ambulance crews praised the actions of a woman at the scene for her life-saving first aid skills.

Tragic accident

The boys' parents said they wanted to thank friends and neighbours who helped search for the twins when they went missing, especially Craig Lazenby.

"If it were not for Craig's quick actions and the help of our neighbours, we believe neither of our boys would be with us now," the statement said.

They also thanked the ambulance service and hospital staff.

Craig Lazenby said the parents were very grateful.

He said: "Everybody was out searching for them at the time, and luckily we got there as quick as we did.

"Well, from when the alarm was raised, to when we found them, was about three minutes."

Police said they were treating the matter as a tragic accident.
