Lay-by death man named by police

A man who died in hospital after being found seriously injured in a lay-by next to a busy road has been named.

Douglas Torrance, 47, from Bedworth, Warwickshire, was found on the A50 between Uttoxeter and Draycott Island, Staffordshire, on Monday evening.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw his red Rover 416 in the lay-by.

Det Insp Dave Giles said Mr Torrance's death is being treated as unexplained and the results of a post-mortem examination were so far inconclusive.
