Inquiry after woman's body found

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found inside a bungalow in Staffordshire.

Officers found the body, believed to be that of a woman in her 20s, after being called to an address in Lyndhurst Drive, Brown Lees, near Biddulph.

Her body was found during the morning and the scene has been sealed off.

Staffordshire Police were alerted after a man in his early 40s was found injured in Congleton, Cheshire. He is in a stable condition in hospital.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out on the dead woman later, police said.
