Police warning over ID card theft

Police in Stoke-on-Trent are warning people to be on their guard against bogus officials.

It follows the theft of a company fleece and ID badge from a Severn Trent Water van in the city.

Police said someone could have stolen them with the intention of using them to try to get into people's homes.

The badge and jacket were taken on Wednesday while the van was parked in Smallthorne. Anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police.
