Police investigating the death of a woman have charged a 21-year-old man with theft.

Matthew Robinson, from Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent, faces a theft charge at Fenton Magistrates' Court on Monday, a Staffordshire Police spokesman said.

He was arrested on Friday by police investigating the death of 19-year-old Samantha Bennett, whose body was found in Burslem on 19 March.

Another arrested man is being held in police custody on immigration matters.

He will be questioned by the immigration service, but has been released in connection with the death of Ms Bennett, the police spokesman added.

Two other men previously arrested over the teenager's death remain on police bail.

Ms Bennett's mother Angela has backed police calls for information in the case and police have renewed their own appeal for information.

Supt Bernie O'Reilly said: "We are still keen to talk to anyone who saw Samantha between 2000 GMT on Tuesday 18 March and the morning of Wednesday the 19th."
