Villagers want attraction bypass
Villagers living close to a popular visitor attraction are meeting with its owners to ask for a bypass.

Alton parish council, near Alton Towers in Staffordshire, says it needs a bypass as its roads cannot deal with all the traffic.

They want owners Prestbury to fund and build a road from Denstone to the park.

Alton Towers representatives will meet with the villagers on Tuesday and say they will also discuss the matter with the district and county councils.

Tony Moult from the parish council said there were a lot of disgruntled residents in Alton, in the Staffordshire Moorlands, and said they were getting a lot of pollution from traffic.

"I know it will be a lot of money just to pacify Alton residents but something needs to be done," he said.
