Midlands ambulance trusts merge
Two ambulance trusts officially merge on Monday to give coverage across the West Midlands region.

Staffordshire Ambulance service is merging with the West Midlands service.

The decision to merge sparked a protest with 5,000 people signing a petition against it. It was feared response times would be affected.

The West Midlands service was formed in 2006 covering Coventry, Shropshire, Birmingham, Warwickshire, the Black Country, Herefordshire and Worcs.
