Two drivers have died following a head-on collision in north Staffordshire, police have said.
The accident happened on Tuesday morning on the A53, near to the M6 bridge, heading out of Newcastle-under-Lyme towards Whitmore.
Police said they believed both cars had been travelling in opposite directions.
The driver of the Ford Focus, thought to be in his late 60s, died at the scene. The other motorist, in his early 20s, died in hospital.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police urged anyone who saw the accident to contact them.
