Two homeless people who died during a fire at a disused factory in Stoke-on-Trent have been identified.

The bodies of Jessica Beech and Darren Asher, both 26, were found in the Hamilton Reid building, in Hanley, after the blaze last week.

Police said it was believed they had gone into the city centre during the evening of Tuesday 3 July before returning to the disused factory.

The building is being searched amid fears that more people may have died.

Det Ch Insp Phil Lee, of Staffordshire Police, said: "We need to build up a picture of Jessica and Darren's movements on Tuesday and particularly Tuesday evening.

"We are appealing to anyone who may have seen them to contact us."

Ten people have been arrested and bailed during the police investigation into the fire.
