Two city rail stations improved
Improvements have been made at two Stoke-on-Trent railway stations.

They include CCTV, better lighting, shelters and passenger information facilities at Longport and Longton stations.

North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone funded the scheme paying out almost £250,000.

Funds were made available by regional development agency Advantage West Midlands while Central Trains managed the project.

The rail company, which operates the Crewe-Stoke-Derby hourly service serving the two stations, will provide ongoing maintenance of the new equipment.

The scheme was developed by North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership which includes Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
