Couple lost £30,000 in web scam
A couple lost £30,000 after sending money to a bogus lottery website.

E-mails were sent to the Stoke-on-Trent couple, who want to remain anonymous, saying they had won two million euros.

They were given details of a Dutch bank account which had been opened for them, with a website link, and were asked to send money to cover costs.

A city council spokesman said people should never send money or respond when they are told they have won a competition they did not enter.
