Ambulance call for 999 restraint
People are being urged to think twice about calling 999 for an ambulance.

Staffordshire Ambulance Service said it has seen a sharp rise in recent weeks in the number of people dialling 999 when it is not a serious situation.

It believes many people think they will bypass hospital accident and emergency queues if they are taken by ambulance.

But Bob Lee, from the county's ambulance service, said unless it is a life-threatening situation people will not go to the front of the queue.
