New roadworks to hit M6 drivers
Motorists heading on the M6 through Staffordshire and the Black Country are to face new roadworks.

Work starts on new lighting and a new noise-reducing surface between Stafford and Stone on Monday.

The £3m scheme, around junctions 15 and 16, could last until the end of April, with a constant 40mph limit.

A separate nine-week scheme will see bridge deck joints and resurfacing work on both M6 carriageways over the Bescot Viaduct, near Walsall.

The work will be carried out overnight when traffic flows are lower, on a one-mile stretch, with lane closures and slip road closures and a 40mph limit when work is taking place.

No work will take place on Sundays as the road is too busy.
