A memorial service was held ot the weekend for 57 miners who lost their lives in a Staffordshire mining disaster 64 years ago.

The men and boys had agreed to work at Sneyd Colliery in Burslem on New Year's Day in a bid to help the war effort.
A memorial to the miners, in the shape of a pit wheel, is due to be unveiled in Burslem town centre by the end of the month.
The service was held at Hamil Road Methodist church during the evening.
The miners died when a spark triggered a coal dust explosion.
