Worker is killed at JCB factory
A father-of-two has been killed in an accident at the Staffordshire headquarters of construction equipment manufacturer, JCB.

Darren Ellis, 33, of Werrington, Staffordshire, suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead by paramedics.

Police are investigating the death with the Health and Safety Executive and are preparing a report for the coroner.

Mr Ellis was married and had two children, a girl aged 11 and a boy aged 10, from a previous marriage.

Police were called to the digger giant's production facility in Leek Road, Cheadle, on Wednesday morning.

Det Insp Neil Hulme said: "We are currently interviewing employees at JCB who may have witnessed this incident to try to build up a picture of the circumstances surrounding Mr Ellis' death."
