Arrest by police looking for man

Police in Leek looking for a man wanted after failing to appear in court have made an arrest.

Officers had been looking for Nicholas Beetham after he failed to appear in court on a dangerous driving charge.

They say they also wanted to question him about a number of burglaries.

Police say a 23-year-old man was arrested in Onecote on suspicion of burglary and is due before magistrates about two outstanding court warrants.

He is to appear in court at Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, on Tuesday.

Staffordshire Police say he was arrested on Monday morning after a call from a member of the public.
