Two flown to hospital after smash

Two people have been flown to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after a head-on crash on the A522 in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Emergency services were called after two cars collided at Cauldon Lowe, between Main Road and Ellaston Road.

The pair, believed to be teenagers, were flown by air ambulance to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

The driver and front seat passenger of the car were also seriously injured.

A man and a woman in the other car were taken to hospital by road.
