A teenager has died and two others were injured when a car hit a lamppost in Stoke-on-Trent early on Monday.
The blue Honda Accord crashed in Lightwood Road in Longton.
The three involved in the crash were male, believed to be aged between 16 and 18 and from the Normacott area, Staffordshire Police said.
They were taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent but one of them, a passenger, died.
Police in Longton are appealing for information about the incident, which happened at about 0245 BST.
