Pedestrian struck in hit-and-run
A pedestrian was injured when he was struck on a pedestrian crossing by a car that did not stop for a red light.

The 17-year-old was crossing the road on the A51 Horsefair in Rugeley, near the Globe Island, when he was hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa on Tuesday night.

The car, which was travelling from the direction of Armitage towards Stafford, left the scene without stopping.

The teenager, who was with a woman and another male, was taken to Stafford Hospital with foot and leg injuries.

The car driver has been described as white, aged about 23, with a chubby face. He was wearing a dark woollen beanie hat.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
