Six fans held after text launch
Britannia Stadium, Stoke
Fans texted police at the Britannia Stadium
Six football fans were arrested at Stoke City's game on Saturday after a text message scheme alerting police to crowd problems was launched.

Five Stoke fans and one Millwall supporter are being questioned following the match at the Britannia Stadium which the home side won 1-0.

People could use mobiles to contact the Staffordshire Police control room at the ground for the first time.

Two supporters texted officers about trouble at the stadium.

Fans can use the number 60066 followed by SCFC.

Other supporters in the Potteries at Port Vale had already been able to use the service by typing in PVFC instead to contact the police at Vale Park.
