Boy, 12, dies after road accident
A 12-year-old pedestrian has died in hospital following a road accident in Staffordshire.

Police said the incident happened at about 1500 BST on Saturday at the junction of the Hagley Road and the A51 in Rugeley town centre.

Jonathan Gormley, from Rugeley, was involved in a collision with a Renault Clio being driven by a 17-year-old.

The victim was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where he died on Saturday night.

The driver and a passenger in the car were both treated for shock.

Sergeant David Ingham from Staffordshire Police said plenty of people would have seen what happened and has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
