Driver killed when car hits tree
A man in his 20s has died after his car left the road and hit a tree in Staffordshire.

It happened on Thursday morning on the A38 between Weeford Island and Bassetts Pole Island when a car tried to overtake a lorry.

Police said the Peugeot 206 veered off the road and hit a tree. The car driver, from the Longdon area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the accident to contact them.
