A mother-of-two has been jailed for three years for trying to murder her disabled husband.
Jacqueline Hodgson, from Telford, had already admitted plunging a kitchen knife into the chest of 47-year-old John, who suffers from multiple sclerosis.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard on Friday that Hodgson was her husband's devoted carer for 13 years, but snapped under intense pressure.
Hodgson, who is from the Hollinswood Estate in Draycott, had also been drinking heavily at the time of the attack.
The court was told the couple still loved each other and that she bitterly regretted the incident.
Mr Hodgson is now being looked after at a nursing home in Newport, Shropshire.
